"Cookies" technology
"Cookies" (so-called "cookies") are small text files whose textual content may contain various information about you, including personal data in the form of your computer's IP address and a unique device identifier stored in the file. "Cookies" are stored in the memory of your device - they are not stored on our servers, we only read the contents of these files, accessing them during your visit to our site.
Each individual cookie consists of four basic parts:

In our services we use "cookies" and similar technologies - hereinafter collectively referred to as cookies. These technologies ensure, among other things, correct operation of the service.
In accordance with the accepted practice of most Web sites, we store HTTP requests directed to our server. This means that we know the public IP addresses from which users browse the information content of our site. The content viewed is identified by URLs. We also know, among other things:
- time of arrival of the query,
- time to send a response,
- URL address of the site previously visited by the user (referer link) - in case the Medicover site was accessed via a link,
- information about the user's browser.
This data is not associated with specific individuals browsing Medicover sites. In order to ensure the highest possible quality of the service, we occasionally analyze log files to determine which pages are visited most often, which web browsers are used, whether the site structure contains errors, etc.
By visiting our sites you remain anonymous until you decide otherwise yourself. The information contained in system logs (e.g. IP address) is used by us for technical purposes related to the administration of our servers. In addition, IP addresses are used to collect general, statistical demographic information such as the region from which you connect to us.

How we use cookies
Processing of personal data in the collection of cookies:
Personal data of Users of medicover.co.uk/medistore.com.pl will be processed through passive data collection using cookies for the following purposes:
- Necessary for the display and proper operation of the website, to ensure its functionality and security, e.g. to enable registration, logging in, logging out, sorting of displayed data, transmission of information, fulfillment of the legal obligation to comply with information obligations and to record the consents given through the settings selected by the User. The legal basis for the processing of data collected in connection with the use of such cookies is the performance of the Electronic Services Agreement (Article 6(1)(b) of the RODO), as well as Medicover's legitimate interest related to the necessity of processing the data for the performance of services and the provision of the relevant functionalities of the website (Article 6(1)(f) of the RODO in connection with Article 399 of the Electronic Communications Law).
- Necessary to remember the user's preferences and choices (e.g. default language, ability to auto-complete data, login to the site) or to provide an extension of the site's functionality. These files will be stored for the duration of the session, in which case the legal basis for processing the data collected in connection with the use of this type of cookies is Medicover's legitimate interest, related to the necessity of processing the data for the implementation of services and the provision of appropriate functionality of the site (Article 6(1)(f) RODO). In the situation of leaving this type of files after the end of the session, the legal basis is the user's consent to such action (Article 6(1)(a) RODO in connection with Article 399 of the Law on Electronic Communications).
- Analytical and statistical for the purpose of collecting data and information about users' use of the site. The legal basis for processing data collected in connection with the use of such cookies is the user's consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the RODO in conjunction with Article 399 of the Electronic Communications Law).
The website uses Google Analytics for web audience analysis, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View CA 94040 USA) (hereinafter "Google"). For this purpose, cookies are installed on the User's device, which collect data such as browser and device information, IP address, websites visited, and date and time of the server inquiry in order to evaluate the User's use of the website, compile reports on activity on the Medicover website as the website operator, and provide other services related to website activity and Internet use to the website operator.
The service operates on the basis of IP address anonymization. This means that Google truncates (truncates the last eight digits of the IP address), i.e. anonymizes IP addresses from countries in the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted, which is anonymized only on Google's servers in the USA.
Google, on behalf of Medicover, will use this information to evaluate the User's use of the website, to create reports on website traffic for website operators and to provide other services related to website traffic and Internet use. Google will not link your IP address with any other data stored by Google.
The information generated by cookies about your use of the website is transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. It should be noted that the US does not guarantee an adequate level of data protection at the same level as EU countries, hence, in order to ensure adequate data protection, Medicover, for the purpose of implementing the contract for Google Analytics services, has entered into an agreement with Google, taking into account the standard contractual clauses for data transfer to third countries adopted by a decision of the European Commission.

You can opt out of the collection of Cookies by selecting the appropriate settings of the browser you use to connect to our sites, but please note that if you do so, you may find it difficult or impossible to use all the features of the site.
